Add is for the clip that already has sound and needs a bed under it: a voiceover that wants a theme, a product clip that wants energy, a travel video that wants atmosphere.
The original track stays. The music is mixed on top, with one volume for each. Lower the original to keep a voice clear, or push the music up when the picture carries the story.
Loop a short track to fill a long video. Fade in at the start and out at the end. The video stream is copied, so adding music does not re-encode the picture.
